January 9th – ARGENTINA – Captain Arsenio

So this is a double bonanza of a book – gorgeously unique illustrations and witty humour and originality of story. Oh yes it is the eons old desire to fly, mixed with Captain Arsenio’s head firmly in the clouds; and an unshakeable faith in each invention, that cooks up an interesting recipe for some unusual assaults on the laws of physics. Written as a non-fiction account of the diary of a fictitious Captain Arsenio this book had the children ensnared and racing off after to test the hypothesis : tree+child+oversize umbrella = glorious flight… Once we are finished our 180 books we will definitely head back for some more of Pablo’s work.
